About this live event

This continuing education event reviews various Play Therapy theories (Child-Centered, Adlerian, Gestalt, and Cognitive-Behavioral) that can be utilized in the context of Play Therapy Groups. Participants will learn methods and skills for forming, assessing, facilitating, and evaluating Play Therapy Groups. Participants will practice group Play Therapy skills and interventions in an interactive learning format. Completion of a Post-test and Evaluation is required for participants to receive CE credit.

Learning Objectives

1. Identify the core theoretical concepts of Play Therapy that match well with group modalities.

2. Describe best practices for forming and facilitating Play Therapy groups.

3. Discuss best practices for assessing and evaluating Play Therapy groups.

4. Demonstrate basic knowledge of group Play Therapy methods and skills.

5. Describe how Play Therapists use the therapeutic powers of play to engage multiple group members with different presenting problems in the therapeutic process.

6. Assess when Group Play Therapy is an appropriate intervention for a client.
