3 Play Therapy Skills and Methods Hours

(Part 2 of 3) This continuing education event teaches participants advanced skills related to Child-Centered Play Therapy including appropriate use and techniques for limit setting. Participants will also learn the theoretical specifications for constructing a therapeutic playroom and selection of therapeutic toy. Participants will receive live practice and coaching in practice child-centered play therapy skills. Completion of a Post-test and Evaluation is required for participants to receive CE credit.

Learning Objectives

1. Identify the core theoretical framework Child Centered Play Therapists use to determine if and when to set limits.

2. Practice two Child-Centered Play Therapy limit skills for setting effective limits in the playroom.

3. Identify ten categories of toys appropriate for the child-centered Play Therapy room.

4. Describe a theoretical and multicultural framework for playroom toy selection consistent with Child-Centered Play Therapy.

5. Demonstrate skills in applying Child Centered Play Therapy tracking and limit setting skills.

6. Assess when Child-Centered Play Therapy is an effective intervention for a client.
