About this live event

This continuing education teaches participants the theory, skills, and methods of Filial Play Therapy and Child-Parent Relationship Therapy. It identifies the underlying theories of this approach including Attachment and Humanisitic Theories. Participants will learn to identify the skills and methods of Filial Play Therapy and conceptualize cases from a filial perspective. Participants will practice filial Play Therapy skills and interventions in an interactive learning format. Participants will learn through lecture, video demonstration, interactive practice, case review, and large group discussion. Completion of a Post-test and Evaluation is required for participants to receive CE credit.

Learning Objectives

1. Recite the core theoretical concepts of Attachment Theory & Humanisitic Theory.

2. Identify the theoretical foundations of Filial Play Therapy and Child-Parent Relationship Therapy.

3. Identify Filial Play Therapy skills and methods.

4. Demonstrate ability to use Filial Play Therapy skills and methods.

5. Describe how Filial Play Therapists use the therapeutic powers of play in a group parent training and single-system format.

6. Assess when Filial Play Therapy interventions are appropriate interventions to achieve client treatment goals.
