6 Play Therapy Ethics Hours

This continuing education event engages participants in an examination of APT's Best Practices in conjunction with state law and Code of Ethics for best practice. Participants will learn the P3 ethical model for identifying and resolving ethical dilemmas. Presentation will include a special focus on the ethical importance of self-care and differentiate between faux and radical self-care practices. Participants will learn through interactive skills practice and discussion of case examples. Completion of a Post-test and Evaluation is required for participants to receive CE credit.

Learning Objectives

1. Recite twelve key guidelines outlined in APT's Best Practice for Play Therapy

2. Discuss the intersection of APT's Best Practice, state laws, and Codes of Ethics for effective practice of Play Therapy.

3. Identify when an ethical dilemma is occurring utilizing Play Therapy theory.

4. Discuss how to apply the p3 ethical decision-making model in practice of Play Therapy.

5. Identify decision-making protocol for incorporating other professional persepctives into Play Therapy treatment and intervention plans.

6. Conceptualize a case using the P3 Play Therapy ethical model.
